Love this! I found your poem through @Nimila the Inferno. I am planning to use the prompt also:) I also read your bio lines about “contents maybe flammable”. So our mine. So let’s connect!
I love how this resists the neat “healing arc” people often expect from poems about shame or trauma. The whole thing feels like digging with your hands.. if that makes sense?
Thank you so much! I truly believe healing is not a destination that we arrive at once we have done all the work. Life is messy and no matter how much work you do, trauma has a way living in the cracks. I always try to approach my poetry from as real a place as I can. I am imperfect. My arc is too.
This is the highest compliment coming from you! Thank you 🥹❤️ I circled around this idea of cutting, shame and joy for a long while lol. My notebook is MESSY. I appreciate how you feel my work. It honestly makes me feel soooo seen 🫶
Thank you! This is such high praise <3 I am so thankful for how you read my work and feel it. It took me a long while to get to the point in my own head but I like how it turned out.

Ah the picture captured me right away - and as a nod to the beautiful poem and thevcuts that have made you, you...If I may.

Do not shy away
from pain,
from loss,
from suffering.
At the end of your life,
How beautiful you will be.
Each crack,
each wound,
each tiny flaw
Sealed, healed.
And you,
shining, brilliant -
All covered in gold.
